This policy explains how brianwinum.com uses artificial intelligence in research, writing, editing, development, visual production, and site operations. It also explains how automated systems may interact with published content. Read it together with the Editorial Guidelines and Privacy Protection Policy.
1. Scope and principles
AI tools may support work on this site, but they do not replace human judgment or responsibility. Their use is guided by accuracy, transparency, accountability, privacy, security, and respect for intellectual property and other legal rights.
2. How AI may be used
- Organizing research and summarizing source material for further review.
- Brainstorming, outlining, drafting, editing, proofreading, and formatting.
- Assisting with code, debugging, tests, structured data, metadata, and content transformations.
- Creating visual concepts or generated media when appropriate.
- Supporting administrative and publishing workflows.
AI output is treated as a starting point or working aid, not as an authoritative source.
3. Human review and responsibility
Content is not intentionally published through a fully autonomous AI workflow. Brian Winum or an authorized human editor reviews the final work and remains responsible for its accuracy, context, tone, and suitability.
4. Verification and source integrity
AI-assisted factual claims, quotations, citations, statistics, and code are checked before publication. Primary and authoritative sources are preferred whenever practical. Sources will not be knowingly fabricated, and uncertainty will be identified when it is material to the reader. See the Editorial Guidelines for the broader research and corrections standards.
5. Disclosure standards
Routine assistance such as spelling correction, outlining, formatting, or code completion does not receive an item-by-item disclosure. Substantial synthetic text, audio, video, imagery, or an AI interaction will be disclosed when its origin could reasonably affect how a reader interprets the material.
AI-generated or materially altered depictions of real people or events will be labeled in context. Testimonials, customer experiences, product-testing claims, and review findings will not be fabricated with AI.
6. Privacy, confidentiality, and security
Confidential client information, login credentials, and personal or sensitive data are not intentionally submitted to an AI service without appropriate authorization and safeguards. Data should be minimized or redacted when possible, and relevant vendor retention, access, and model-training settings should be considered before use. The collection and handling of information through this site are described in the Privacy Protection Policy.
7. Prohibited uses
- Fabricating evidence, sources, quotations, reviews, testimonials, or results.
- Impersonation, deceptive deepfakes, plagiarism, or copyright infringement.
- Discriminatory, manipulative, fraudulent, or intentionally misleading activity.
- Generating spam, malware, or instructions intended to bypass security controls.
- Undisclosed autonomous decision-making that could materially affect a person’s rights or access to important services.
8. AI access to site content
Public content may be indexed, summarized, or referenced by search engines and AI systems, subject to this site’s technical controls. Files and endpoints such as robots.txt, llms.txt, feeds, sitemaps, and structured data provide access or discovery signals; they do not waive copyright or grant a blanket license to republish, resell, create datasets from, or train models on site content.
Brief quotations and summaries should include clear attribution and a link to the original page where permitted by law. Contact Brian Winum about licensing or uses beyond those described in the Terms and Conditions of Use.
9. Corrections and policy changes
AI-related errors are reviewed and corrected under the site’s editorial standards. This policy may change as tools, risks, laws, and site practices evolve. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision.
