About Twenty-plus years of watching what Google does, not what it says. I’m Brian Winum — partner at MAXBURST Web Design and MAXPlaces Marketing, based in Long Island, New York. I remember the excitement of my first $25 commission check from credit card affiliate programs, and building HTML sites in Microsoft FrontPage. Those early experiences ignited a passion that has driven my career ever since. The fascination with technology started even earlier — 1982, with a Commodore VIC-20. I studied computer science and business management at the University of Scranton, started at GEICO, then ran my own commercial insurance agency — building websites and honing online marketing skills the whole time. In my mid-30s I sold the agency and went all-in on digital. From the rise of search engines to social media to the current AI revolution, my strength has always been problem-solving and unorthodox solutions.
